SEO and Link Building Tips, Articles and Resources

Search Engine Optimization and Link Development are both continuously evolving marketing practices, and as a practitioner, keeping yourself updated is imperative to be able to compete in an ever-evolving world of business marketing.

Below are the posts that I’ve published over the years that share different approaches and methodologies – based on my personal experience and core principles – when it comes to optimizing a website for both users and search.

Getting the best links from the most authoritative and most relevant sources around the web has gotten tougher this year. I believe that it’s a good sign for everyone, because if it’s getting easier then something must be really wrong.

Link building has been a very important process in online marketing ever since, and will always be. Not just because search engines will always be reliant to links in finding and ranking web-based documents, but also given that links can benefit sites in so many ways

Link building has changed a lot these past few years, especially this year when Google has rolled out its anti-link spam update – better known as the Penguin update.

These changes have given birth to an era where different ideologies in marketing are being integrated to SEO. Search engines are constantly evolving, and our approach should too.

Our company celebrated its first year anniversary last month – a really tough year for all of us. And I’m sure that it will be tougher in the long run, as we all upgrade our goals internally. But overall, our small team is quite proud with what we have all achieved these past 12 months.

Since we’ve reached our first year as a company, a yearly board meeting/planning is certainly a task that we need to undertake. To make sure that we’ll learn from our past mistakes, identify our processes’ pain points, and on how we can build as stronger product from those insights (which is primarily our services/ culture).

I’ve worked with Affilorama for over a year and half as an in-house SEO (since early 2010 to mid 2011), and became an external marketing consultant for them for almost a year now. Those experiences alone have taught me ton of things that I’m sure I will not be able to learn if I’ve chosen to work for other companies.

Even the story of my career – as an online publisher, online marketing professional and entrepreneur – has revolved around the fact that I’ve been once a part of a really strong team. That part of my career has been a solid core of who I am and what I do now.

Mind share is an element that denotes how powerful a brand is to its market. It is commonly a result of highly effective promotions, which makes the brand really popular, making its target consumers very aware of the product/service/solution that the brand offers.

As an objective for marketing campaigns, having a strong mind share is definitely vital these days as it can stretch a brand’s reach in several ways.

I talked about link building strategies, principles and mindsets for enterprise-level campaigns 2 days ago at Mastering Online Rankings Conference, which was held at Vista Venice Resorts, Morong Bataan.

The chance to converse and exchange ideas with new industry friends and certainly some of the greatest minds in our local Internet Marketing community (like Gary Viray and Rex Malvas, a real-life affiliate marketing expert) was gold!

There are so many tools these days that can extremely make the process of site audit and optimization so much easier, and I’m betting that several tools are already running through your head. But sometimes, the best ones are those that are offered for free.

Google’s Webmaster Tools is certainly on the top of my list. This browser-based web application from Google has ton of functionalities that can help determine your site’s condition from one end to another.

SEO moves fast.

I realize this contradicts the fact that SEOisamarathonandnotasprint, however I’m not talking about the process or the results, but the industry…

In a recentpostbyMattBeswick he compares SEO to “trying to build a house in a fault zone,” and specifically that “by the time you have laid down the foundation, the gound underneath may have shifted.”
