Last Saturday, October 29, 2011, I presented about Viral Content Marketing at Mastering Online Ranking Conference. MORCon is one of the most awaited yearly SEO conferences in the country, as several of the country’s top-gun SEOs unite to share their knowledge (and some of their secrets) about the online marketing industry to our small local community of Internet professionals.
I was lucky to be invited to present at this event and definitely fortunate to receive a lot of positive feedbacks about my presentation, given that it was my first ever speaking gig. My slides from MORCon are below, and I might also upload a video of my presentation (though it’s in Filipino) in the coming weeks. Any questions about the presentation, feel free to drop a comment below.

I wish that I could be in one of these seminars or conferences where I can get more ideas for SEO marketing and Affiliate marketing. That will definitely help my small business a lot.
Plus you can also network with like-minded people, which can extremely help your business out (through sharing of ideas, techniques and information). Thanks for dropping by Greg.
Its great to see all young motivated faces! I wish I was 20-21 again!
Great slides, link bait is working for me, for my clients and everyone who plans it well. Not every single work will go viral, however I made 5 link bait use up $1000 for one of my client and it gave me 50+ valued links (so far) and the best thing is its natural! $20 for one link (permanent) is also cheap right?

Very well explained man! That’s the main point of investing on these types of materials, it can return priceless results
compared to directly bought links (that are usually priced higher than what you have invested to create great content).
Exceptional Kaiser, exceptional, I loved the slideshare – really more than enough and has really given me some more strategies to strategies I was already formulating
Glad that I could help – even indirectly
Thanks for dropping by Robert! I guess that’s my contribution to your previous status update on Facebook.
Ok then I will have to share something on the level of this. I will share the link in the post and link to your profile and fan page
*UC* that’s all! Hahahah…I love the shirt of zaldy “SEO Rockstar”
Agree! I’m also planning to have my own customized shirt printed out for the next event >:]
Awesome stuff man. “Link Bait” seems to have lost its luster to a lot of people, although it should still be something you do from time to time. I think a lot of people took it on the surface and threw something together they thought was link bait – not realizing the actual process, research and development a good link bait campaign consists of. ~David Walker
Awesome input David. Yeah, I strongly agree, it all really comes down to the processes that you have implemented to make the bait really happen or successful. Accidental link baits are good, but thoroughly planned link baits are greater.
Are you planning to do presentations in Europe?
Great presentation! It’s very informative and true. I like how you point out “Link Bait” and the importance of content ans building relationship in Social Media Networks. Thanks for sharing your presentation. I felt like as if I’m in the seminar too.
I am a beginner and I am searching the internet desperately for information, strategies, and techniques, as well as suggestions, opinions and tips about blogging, internet marketing and social media. I feel lucky today because I found this blog Kaiserthesage ! Nice presentation… waiting for more slights. Thank you Kaiserthesage .
Your Work and Presantation are sooooo interesting for me.
Im New in Business and thankful for Tips.
So i wish you much success with your Projekt.
I checked out your slides and they were great. You and the people you work and associate with seem really talented individuals. I saw their sites and their businesses look very promising indeed. Looked like you had a great time in that event.
Wow! How I wish I could attend such kind of event too. I believe creating a viral content is the best way to promote one’s products and services. When you made a great content, you need not sell. Your material will do the selling for you. Remember that people only love to share helpful, intriguing, or interesting information.
Hi,
Since I stay in small tightly focused niches, I think your link bait presentation is excellent but overkill for what I do. I do some backlinking and articles and usually get first page. I think your plan is more for authority sites but I should try to do some viral marketing to drive more traffic.
Thanks,
Jim
Nice presentation my friend, i wish we had things like that where i come from. Contrary to what most people believe, backlinks are not everything, you need good content too! Take for example all those top 10 results you get sometimes when searching for something. They are nothing more than generic websites with no useful content whatsoever, and i can guarantee that the bounce rate on those websites is really high
.
Hope people read this, thanks.
I’ve been reading your presentation for I found it very useful and full of information about SEO and other stuff. You’re very fortunate to be in that seminar. You deserved it, thanks for sharing your experiences. Now I can understand the link bait deeper.
Content it is the best way to promote yourself and without it you will not be able to do much. Link bait it is grate but I haven’t tried it to much until now. For sure I will try it and see how many links it can bring to me.
Thanks for the nice slide.
Dragos
I’m sure I will learn a lot from your seminar if I was there. Please keep on writing more awesome articles. More power dude!
The presentation is excellently done. Wow I am also a pro link baiting in SEO and your presentation is just a great one to abide to. Great job
Great post man. I wish you’ll do the same training here in Cebu. I’ll surely be the first one to register. Keep it up bro!
Great photos! It looks like you guys had a good time. I second Sybill – it must be awesome to attend an event with such experts in the field. I look forward to learn a lot more from you.
Thank you for the slides. Actually, until now, I only use my blogs to drive traffic to my websites, and I also use another blog to stay connected with my subscribers. It’s time for me to start a “real” blog so to speak.
Franck
Great review! Looks like it was really interesting seminar. I agree that good content is more important than backlinks. In fact it is content that provides you with backlinks.
I’m here in Cebu as well. Hoping for the same training to come up sooner in our place.
Wow! Great content. I wish I could have seen you deliver this. Had a look through your presentation and there are some really nice ideas in there. Like the fact that partial matched anchor text links makes them more clickable – I’ll try that one! Content is still the king as far as Google is concerned.
I work for a foreign IM company and creating viral content is just about the hardest task I’ve ever come across. Experts say a campaign has to be planned but quite honestly, there is no planning the reaction of people in general.
Superb presentation and incredibly actionable.
I’d never heard of Morcon before but looks like a great event and I’m glad you had such a good time!
The creation of viral content is a great idea and trying to push that product out and make it happen. Thanks for sharing all of this information. BTW the thundercats T-shirt is freaking awesome too.

Imba lah!
Bisita ka na sa office pag may oras ka. Mag mini-seminar ka dun samin
If only there were not trouble during the MorCon event I should have been jamming with the participants.. Too bad, hopefully next year I might be able to attend
I wish, we had more of these kind of conferences in my place too and specially related to SEO , that would be a great way to learn new stuffs and get inspired. Although they have few blogging meetups once or twice a year in our place, I always end up missing them because of one reason or the other
From the photos above, I can see that you had so much fun meeting and exchanging ideas with other Filipino SEO’s. At talagang may pic ka pa with Sir Benj, ha. Hopefully, I’ll be able to attend MORCon in 2012
whoa! you met the legendary benj!
and wow! you’re a speaker! ^_^
Congrats for the success of MORCON 2011. I hope I can join the MORCON 2012 and hopefully get valuable insights from the speakers.
You simply inspire me to do better as an SEO. If given a chance, I would like to be present on one conference and learn from your techniques. I’m sure you and everybody have had a good time on the presentation. Congrats and more power.
I really enjoyed your slide presentation Jason. I like the Chrome broken link extension method too.
Creating this type of link bait will never die. Not only is it useful to the web overall, but it’s an ethical and creative way to get your message there, in a way the spammers simply cannot. In the long run, this content will take on a life of it’s own and continue to bring in both actual visitors and an increase in ranking. This is much better than a short sighted link building approach.
Hi Jason,
I really appretiate your work. And your T-shirt looks really cool in the pic.
This was an amazing event indeed. About the slide posted, you did a great job with that.
Wow Kaiser The presentation you have uploaded here helped me more better to understand what is Viral Marketing what are its types and how it can be done seriously it was a great reading, Reading your useful blog post and having a look at your awesome Presentation
Hello sir Jason.
I was not present here but I saw you talk in Iblog8. Very interesting and I learned so much information. I’ll definitely apply it on my sites.
